In the United States, with the passing of the 2018 Farm Bill, hemp containing no THC (delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol), marijuana’s psychoactive component that produces the notorious “high” or extremely low concentrations (less than 0.3%) of THC from the definition of marijuana. This led to CBD products derived from hemp to pop up everywhere. All of TrueRoots products are derived from hemp and abide by these standards. We advise that you check with you states laws and local laws to verify if CBD is legal in your state.

Pure CBD products derived from industrial hemp that contain no THC will not cause a “high” effect. Products with little amounts of THC, less than 0.3% should also not cause a “high” effect as it is a miniscule amount however the effects may vary depending on the individual.

There is always risk when consuming cannabis related products even if derived from hemp. Consuming products made with pure CBD Isolate contain no THC and therefore should not yield a positive drug test searching for THC and other illegal drugs. Consuming CBD products with little amounts of THC, less than 0.3%, it is possible that this may show up on a drug screening as the THC amount can build up in your system. For anyone that is subject to drug tests, using products made with CBD isolate containing no THC are recommended.

Full spectrum CBD extracts contain all the natural compounds from the plant that it was extracted from. This means that aside from CBD, terpenes, flavonoids and THC will be included. It is possible that other cannabinoids such as CBN, CBG and others are also in the extract. The benefits of full spectrum allow for the “entourage effect”.

Broad spectrum CBD extracts also contain all the natural compounds but goes through another process to take out the THC. This option is popular to those wanting the entourage effect but not wanting THC.

CBD Isolate is a crystalline, white powder CBD in its purest form. It is the only compound extracted from the plant leaving out all the other compounds. This option is best for those only wanting CBD and those who are subject to drug tests.
